I was born (1956) and raised in Lucerne, Switzerland. After High School I graduated in Architecture at the Technical University (ETH) in Zurich, Switzerland.

Beside my work as an architect I am working as auditor for quality management systems, as teacher for planning and project management and one year as digital photographer. My studio for digital photography is located in Ebikon near Lucerne.

I have been shooting for 30 years in different fields: nature, landscape, architecture and travel photography. Now I specialize in shooting people: portrait, nude and erotic photography.

As a professional architect I like forms, proportions, structures and light. For me, photography, architecture and art are related.

Why do I photograph nudes?

In other fields of the photography (architecture, landscape), the object is there and the photographer has to find the right place, the right time, the right light. Photographing nudes is different. The pictures are created first in my mind. Then I try to bring them in my camera. This is very creative and artistic, quite comparable to the architectural work. Some photographs like “Split Woman” took me quite a while till I was able to make it.
Nude photography is a fantastic play with emotions. Nobody is indifferent to these pictures and everybody see something different, depending on their own experience of life. Sometimes the border is narrow, but this makes it interesting and pretentious.

Working with models

I do enjoy the work with my models. I don't work with many different models but I prefer to work often with the same women, this way I know exactly which photographs I can do with which model. Every model has her own personality and this I discovered after several shootings. I like to plan my shootings very well in advance with all the different situations and emotions I like to show.

In nude photography I do work completely digital. I work with the camera Nikon D100, process my photographs with Photoshop 7.0 and print them with Epson Stylus Photo 2100. I like to have control over all different steps. Especially I like the work with Photoshop 7.0. I use all I can to bring the photographs to the expression I want to achieve.
Eight of my photographs of nudes were accepted in the Hasselblad Austrian Super Circuit of 2003 and two of them are published in the catalog of the competition.

What are my plans for the next year?

In march 2004 I will have an exhibition together with my friend Walo Thönen in Lucerne. The theme is “Fantastic Beauty and Beautiful Fantasies”. The exhibition will be in the little castle Utenberg in Lucerne from March 7 , 2004 until April 18, 2004.

For 2004 I would like to publish a book about my best model Carina. Together with 12 other photographers we will show the variety and beauty of this wonderful woman and model. At moment I am looking for a good publisher.
